SAYAW LUBI-LUBI

Sayaw sa “Lubi-Lubi” (Coconut Dance) is the country’s most original and indigenous fun Dance (Street Parade) utilize the city’s abundant coco plants and materials. It is a Unity among the Gingoognons done every May 22ndat the pay honor the local patroness Sta. Rita de Cascia on her annual feast day. It involves the city’s rural and urban Barangays.

KALIGA FESTIVAL

“KALIGA”  means thanksgiving’s for the Gingoognons. This colorful and  joyous festival of Abundance and Prosperity, also arouse to look back the city’s MANOBO and Higaonon roots, their culture and traditions through rituals and street dancing. The festive Kaliga is also the Gingoogonon’s expression of gratefulness to the Almighty’s undying Love and continued  Blessings.

SINGAMPO, HIGAONON RITUAL

Singampo is a Ritual activity of the Higaonon tribe in Gingoog City, conducted during the Founding Anniversary on July 22. Lgu Gingoog supports the Indigenous People.

DIVING

The Dive exploration was just recently conducted by the Department of Tourism – 10, together with the LGU Gingoog last October 2, 2020. With this activity, we discovered some potential diving spot and explored the depths of da Bay and Puntod Shoal in Brgy. San Juan.

MOTOCROSS

Motocross, for those of you who don’t know, is a type of off-road motorcycling race. The races take place on gravel, mud or grass road circuits and the discipline is one of the most skilled, exciting and energetic motor sports around. Every charter day celebration in Gingoog City, sets a motocross contest and inviting riders from different place. Held at brgy. 23, Gingoog City.

MOUNTAIN CLIMBING

A perfect spot for mountain climbing here in gingoog city is at Mt. Balatukan. Is a massive potentially active compound strato-volcano in the northern island of MindanaoPhilippines. It is the highest point in the province of Misamis Oriental. The volcano has no historical eruptions but displays fumarolic activity. The 2,450-metre (8,040 ft) mountain is topped by a triangular shaped caldera 15 kilometers (9.3 mi) long and 10.6 kilometers (6.6 mi) at its widest. The Balatocan River emanates from and drains the huge crater.

The mountain is a protected area in the country classified as a Natural Park, the Mount Balatukan Range Natural Park. The park has an area of 8,423.00 hectares (20,813.7 acres) with a buffer zone of 1,222.00 hectares (3,019.6 acres). It was created on March 6, 2007 by Proclamation no. 1249.

Mount Sumagaya is a mountain on the northern section of Mindanao in the Philippines. It is under the jurisdictional territory of the municipality of Claveria. It stands at a height of about 2,248 metres (7,375 ft).[1]

It is part of the Central Mindanao Cordillera that stretches from Camiguin in the north to Sarangani in the south. The mountain rose to prominence during the crash of Cebu Pacific Flight 387 on its slopes in 1998, one of the deadliest aviation incidents in the Philippines.

SKIMBOARDING

The sport of riding a skimboard over shallow water on a beach and into oncoming waves. The board is usually tossed ahead and jumped on after a running approach. Brgy. Daan Lungsod held the tournament of Skimboarding inviting the locals of the nearby municipalities to participate. It is located at Brgy. Daan Lungsod, Gingoog City.

STAND UP PADDLE BOARDING

Brgy. Daan Lungsod has a potential place for the Stand Up Paddle Boarding. It is a new destination for some tourist who loves and enjoys extreme sports.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

A great way of exercise is biking, Gingoog City is promoting locals to practice using bicycle.
